I grabbed the latest net installer image, but I still run into problems
booting it.
I get this error:

error file '/boot/grub/i386-coreboot/efi_gop.mod' not found
error file '/boot/grub/i386-coreboot/efi_uga.mod' not found
error file '/boot/grub/i386-coreboot/gfxterm.mod' not found
error file '/isolinux/splash.png' not found

And as mentioned It's on a X200 laptop with Libreboot.

Have you updated Libreboot to the latest release? It offers Seabios for
BIOS emulation. Could make startup easier.

I did a update about a month ago or so.
I do not remember exactly when - but anyways - tomorrow I'll
update to the latest again just to be 100% sure that I also test with that.

If you followed my blog post:

you will already have the latest version.

Okay, then you have to make sure that the gNewSense Grub is chainloaded.
You can mount the installed system (e.g. from an usb key) and then

cd /boot/grub
ln -s grub.cfg libreboot_grub.cfg
